Solutions for the Plastics Industry

Plastore feeders, sold under the Plasticolor name, provide the ability to accurately add or mix free-flowing plastic materials and additives to the production process of plastic blow molding, polymer extrusion, tubing extrusion, injection blow molding directly at the throat of the production machinery for custom extrusions… a capability that can greatly reduce manufacturing costs and provide expanded manufacturing flexibility for the plastics and extrusion industries.

Several underlying design fundamentals make a Plasticolor feeder a wise investment.

Our feeders are:
  • Built to last!  Our feeders use a cast aluminum body for strength and rigidity… mounting neckpieces and associated parts are of welded steel construction for the same reasons. Our units are built and designed to last as long as the production machinery it is mounted to.
  • Designed for easy maintenance and quick additive changes!  Feedscrews (providing feed rates from ounces-per-hour to thousands of pounds-per-hour) are changed without tools in a few minutes, and additives such as color can be changed in the same amount of time … all without removing the Hopper from the unit.
  • Easy to operate! Simple, easy-to-use controls make sure that anyone can operate the feeders, and get accurate repeatable results.

The Plasticolor is ideal for extrusion, injection molding, and blow molding applications alike.
Basic feeder operation is straightforward. The Plasticolor feeder is mounted on a neckpiece installed directly under the production machine’s main material hopper. The feeder then uses a feed screw assembly to meter the additive material into the primary material stream passing through the neckpiece. The additive feed rate is selected and controlled by a solid-state controller that controls the speed of the motor that drives the feed screw. A number of interchangeable feed screw sizes are available for each feeder to provide feed rates that range from a couple of ounces-per-hour to 5,000 pounds-per-hour.
