Automatic Closed-Loop Color Control (ACLCC)
Optimize operator efficiency while ensuring consistent color quality throughout a production run with this PLC-based Closed-Loop Color Control system.
The system uses colorimetric data from the in-line color spectrophotometer to control the feeder rate, automatically adjusting material flow to maintain preset color tolerances. It also adjusts for bulk density variations of color concentrates and color variations caused by embossing patterns and can be run in concert with gravimetric systems that control virgin, regrind and other additives.
The system ensures consistent color quality throughout a production run, freeing operators to focus on additional value-added activities while minimizing scrap and product recalls.
Single Gravimetric Feeders
The Plasticolor 2000 GR is a single gravimetric feeder. The unit accurately feeds free flowing color and additives at the throat of extrusion, blow molding and injection molding machines. The system incorporates a special algorithm that filters out vibrations and movement from mold clamping making it suitable for use on injection molding machines.
The Plasticolor 2000 GR is fully backwards compatible with older Plasticolor units meaning an easy upgrade. Save $$ by using your existing body casting, motor and controller. An integrated venturi loader is included with the system
The GRAVIBELT is a single gravimetric beltfeeder. The unit accurately feeds free flowing color and additives at the throat of extrusion, blow molding and injection molding machines. The system incorporates a special algorithm that filters out vibrations and movement from mold clamping making it suitable for use on injection molding machines. The Gravibelt offers a wide dynamic feed range under one setup. With a feed rate from 1 oz to 100 lbs/hr for pellets and 0.5 oz to 30 lbs/hr for micro pellets. Isolated 10/100 Ethernet makes possible the retrieval of production information. An integrated venturi loader is included with the system
AC Motor and Control
AC motor and Control Yaskawa V1000 AC controller installed in an enclosure that meets NEMA type 4X/12 indoor use requirements. We have paired the V1000X AC drive with a custom designed Groschopp AC gear motor. Existing Plastore feeders can be easily upgraded to this AC drive system.
Automatic Color Change
The Plastore Automatic Color Change System provides a simple and automated means for on-stream transitions between color recipes utilizing existing feeders and Mixing Stations. The system allows control and monitoring for two feeders, and provides a touch-screen interface for easy operator interaction. All interaction with the system is done using the touch screen interface.
The touch screen senses capacitance, not pressure, so only a light touch with a finger or stylus is required.
Water cooled sleeve for temperature sensitive materialsThe water cooled sleeve extends through the material stream and drops the additive in the center of the main material. The mixing takes place directly in the center of the neckpiece. By dropping the additive in the center of the neckpiece, our unit prevents the additive from adhering to the sides of the neckpiece. This configuration simplifies cleanout and additive changes.
The Plastore Web Enabled Remote Feeder Control software utility allows users to monitor and interact with individual feeders or mixing stations via a Windows based PC environment using the standard Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser as the primary interface. Feeders may be started and stopped, and motor speeds may be adjusted on-the-fly to suit changing requirements. Motor RPM and Feeder Status are displayed in Real-Time as data is passed back to the web server from PLC controllers via serial or Ethernet communications. In addition, recipes may be created and stored to define standard production runs for repeatable manufacturing results
Quick drain will allow you to drain the Plasticolor hopper with minimal material loss. The Quick drain slidegate assembly fits all Plasticolor 2000 and 3000.
